(Invitation to Rob Crawford to participate in the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) Doha, Qatar, from November 16th to 18th, 2009)
Dear Mr. Crawford,
Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is launching the first World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) to be held in Doha, Qatar, from November 16th to 18th, 2009.
On this auspicious occasion, 1,000 prominent education, corporate, political and social leaders from around the world will meet to find new ways of shaping educational models for the future by addressing the core issues of Pluralism, Sustainability and Innovation, under the umbrella theme of "Global Education: Working Together for Sustainable achievements".
For further details on the Forum program and the global aspirations of WISE, please find enclosed an explanatory brochure. Information is also available on the WISE website wise-qatar.org
Your wide-ranging experience and insight will be invaluable assets in defining the vision of education that WISE and its participants wish to bring to the world. It is therefore with great pleasure, that on behalf of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, we hereby invite you to participate in this summit.
It is our firm belief that WISE will generate innovative and concrete ideas in all fields of education to build a better future for all. We truly hope that you will honor us with your presence at this momentous event.
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani
Chairman of WISE, Vice President - Education, Qatar Foundation
From Rob Crawford:
Life Development Institute was selected as a laureate finalist in Pluralism for the WISE awards, and I say thank you again to the many of you sending expressions of support and good luck.
While not being one of the two awarded this honor, I have been asked to this "invitation only" forum representing a voice of innovation, inclusion, and change for people with disabilities for this international event. There are two breakout sessions specifically focusing on planning a global educational future for the 750 million people identified with disabilities by the World Health Organization. The program and invited participants can be found at the link in the cover letter above.
It is a great tribute to our program and collaborative community partners to be able to contribute to this international dialogue. I am but one voice calling attention to the needs of those we serve as well as to the many more without a voice who have little to look forward to or hope for change.
If you are so inclined, please send me an email or phone call with specific questions or ideas that can be shared at this event as it concerns the movement to improve the quality of life for people with learning and neurodiversity issues.
Please contact Rob Crawford for more information.
