This is a transport agency with an expanded mission. Not only do they transport children to residential programs, but they also locate missing children and provide a “Sober Companion” for clients being discharged from treatment. A majority of their intervention specialists are “current and former counselors with the world renowned Betty Ford Center.”
What they feel distinguishes their approach is their “spiritually therapeutic motivational technique we practice during the escort process.” They describe their approach, which utilizes a blend of intervention styles, such as, ‘The Storti Method’ which makes the client the guest of honor. “We understand that preparation is 99% of being successful, which translates into the positive result of the intervention never being in question. We also utilize the ‘Systemic Family Intervention Model’, which allows the entire family to address multiple issues in a safe, respectful environment.”
In locating missing children, they say, “We understand the extreme sensitivity in escorting and/or locating a missing child. Our counselors are trained in interviewing and interrogation and utilize non-violent crisis intervention techniques. Our agency has working relationships with a vast array of boarding schools, behavior modification programs and chemical dependency treatment facilities to assist our young clients and their families in their time of need.”
The Sober Companion Service consists of designing “an individualized program for the client, taking into consideration such factors as employment, legal matters and any other important commitments the client may have when they return home.” This might consists of attending 12 step meetings with the client, guidance, facilitating enjoyable fitness regimen, and be available “24 hours a day to assist the client and their family with the challenging transition of returning home from treatment.” They point out at times this can be an alternative to inpatient treatment.
