Cherokee Creek Boys School Teacher Nick Linscott is pleased to announce that his Math and Science students have advanced to the state finals in the SC State LEGO League competition! This year's team of 8 middle-school boys finished at regional competition in third place overall, in second place for the science presentation and third place for robot design. This is a great accomplishment for a novice team competing against teams of students who have been together much longer!

This is the fourth year Nick Linscott has sponsored a LEGO League team from Cherokee Creek Boys School. Nick won the honor of Best Coach in his first season. Each year a competition theme is determined by LEGO League organizers. All teams are judged on a science presentation, robot design, teamwork and an obstacle course for the robot.

Aside from the obvious benefit to each boy's self esteem, this competition brings the best of Cherokee Creek's mission to life as it pushes each student to, "discover what is real and true about himself and the world around him." Their determination, positive attitude, skills and creativity - coupled with great coaching and encouragement - account for their success.

Advancement to state finals was completely dependent on finishing well at the regional tournament. Boy did this team rise to the occasion!
