Cherokee Creek Boys School is pleased to announce that Denise Savage, M.A., has accepted the position of Academic Dean at Cherokee Creek Boys School. Denise holds a Master's degree in Education and 19 years of classroom experience. She also has a degree in journalism and has worked in the newspaper and magazine industry, and is a published book author. She will be leading our academic department while teaching Language Arts.

Most recently, Denise has been employed as an Educational Evaluator with the Oconee County Public Schools. Denise brings an exciting mix of strong language instruction skills, as well as extensive knowledge of IEPs (individual education plans), testing and interpretation, and experience evaluating and developing diverse curriculum models. We know that her leadership will foster, in her own words, "enthusiastic and dynamic teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge."

Executive Director David LePere says, "We are excited to have Denise join the CCBS team. She is energetic, talented and loves to teach! She has already made her mark by attending our recent Family Seminar where she had the opportunity to meet our families and share some of the many ideas she hopes to contribute to our "small school with a big heart."

Denise will join the Cherokee Creek team in early March.

Cherokee Creek Boys School is a therapeutic boarding school for middle-school boys, ages 11-15, located in Upstate South Carolina. We are a learning community that challenges boys and their families to discover what is real and true about themselves and the world around them.
