All CALO employees believe in continually sharpening the saw and improving who we are, what we know, and how we interact. Growth, as a matter of fact, is one of our core values. Just as we expect our students and parents to grow, we should expect ourselves to do the same.

With Growth in mind, CALO is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Gent to VP of Training and Development. Over the years Rob has performed key roles at CALO including Therapist, Assistant Clinical Director, and Clinical Director. Rob was also a key member of the Founding Team. Rob’s extensive and influential career at CALO is a testament to his great work ethic and deep understanding of CALO’s therapeutic model. In this new role, Rob will be freed up to do what he does best which is clinical training and treatment model development. Rob’s new role will involve traveling, presentations, and broader parent support and training. Rob will further develop CALO’s relationship with attachment and developmental trauma experts such as Dr. Dan Hughes and Dr. Art Becker Weidman. With Rob’s significant therapeutic abilities, we are looking forward to making new strides in creating quality and groundbreaking clinical interventions and exploring all of the possibilities within CALO’s proprietary, relational attachment based treatment model.

In Rob’s place we have hired Shandra Carter as our new Clinical Director. While she is a Montana native, Shandra developed academically and professionally in Washington State. She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle with a double major in Psychology and in Law, Societies and Justice. She then went on to earn a Master’s in Social Work degree from Eastern Washington University. Her diverse clinical experience includes working in the fields of crisis intervention, domestic violence, sexual trauma, inpatient psychiatry, juvenile residential treatment and adult corrections. Shandra has been incredibly fortunate to have had talented leaders and mentors to guide her in developing a well rounded clinical skill set, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy, all of which provides a back drop for the specialized services of Attachment-Focused Treatment offered at CALO. The growth and development of the students, as well as the clinical team at CALO are sources of great passion for her. Her commitment to her role in leadership and her love of her energetic family keep her life fulfilled and joyful. She and her husband, Jason, are raising a 5 year old daughter alongside 3 very large dogs and 2 birds in the Lake of Ozark area.

These are super exciting times for CALO! The success of others is seen as a source of inspiration for us all. We hope you too are inspired by these exciting changes.

Please let me know if you have any questions. And thank you, as always, for entrusting your child in our care.

Sincerely,
Alex Stavros
