Center For Change Legislative Activity

On April 17th, 2013, Michael Berrett, PhD, Pam Kidd, Diana Allred, and Angela Reese of Center for Change participated in the Eating Disorders Coalition Lobby/Advocacy Days on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. They joined 100 volunteers who had appointments in 60 offices of US Senators and Members of the House.

The efforts in the meeting with these congressional leaders were geared towards educating them on the concerns and needs of those patients with eating disorders. They discussed the urgency to pass needed regulations to accompany the Parity Bill to assure the Affordable Care Act includes proper benefits for those suffering from eating disorders and related mental illnesses, and encouragement to continue to support the FREED Act which bolsters chances of proper insurance coverage and treatment for those persons and families suffering with eating disorders.

Center for Change is committed to helping adolescent girls and adult women break free and fully recover from eating disorders. Our multi-disciplinary approach leads women to a healthier, more balanced routine, restoring a sense of control and peace in their life. The Center is accredited by The Joint Commission and NWAC, and is a certified TRICARE provider.
