It is with great sadness we must inform you that Paul Stockhammer, Headmaster of Brandon Hall School, unexpectedly passed away on May 23, 2010. Paul was the Headmaster of Brandon Hall School for the past nine years.

Paul understood the need for a headmaster succession plan so that under any circumstances there would be continuity in the leadership of the school. He recently hired Dr. John Singleton as Associate Headmaster. Paul had a long-standing relationship with Dr. Singleton and great respect for his experience as an educator and school administrator. The Board of Trustees of Brandon Hall has voted to confirm Dr. Singleton as the new Headmaster. Under his leadership, Brandon Hall School will remain a strong, vibrant school true to its mission - turning potential into reality - and will continue to provide a unique learning environment for its students. The Board of Trustees is committed to assisting Dr. Singleton with his transition to his new role as President and Headmaster of Brandon Hall School.

Dr. Singleton is now proud to announce that Jeffery S. Holloway, MSW will be the new Assistant Headmaster/Director of Admissions & Communications at Brandon Hall School. Jeff will be leaving Aspen Education Group as Southeast Regional Liaison and beginning his new position at Brandon Hall on July 5, 2010. Jeff received his masters degree from the University of Iowa. Jeff has extensive experience in family counseling, therapeutic education, and independent school administration. Jeff will reside with his family in Dahlonega, GA.

Kevin E. Varner, MA, NCC will be joining Brandon Hall School as the schools' Director of Clinical Services. Kevin has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Harvard University and a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. Kevin will be a residential faculty beginning in late July, 2010.

For the first time in the schools 51 year history, girl's boarding will now be an option at Brandon Hall starting in the Fall of 2010.

Founded in 1959, Brandon Hall is a nonprofit coeducational day and boarding, college preparatory School. With a focus on the individual, Brandon hall provides small group and one-on-one college preparatory classes for students who desire a more intensive educational setting or who, for a variety of reasons, may not have been achieving their potential. Emphasizing multi-sensory instruction, applied study skills, organization, accountability, and the ordering of priorities, the School seeks to motivate students to fulfill their potential.
