Beginning on December 1st The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential is offering the five day course "What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child" in Wyndmoor, Philadelphia. Parents of special needs children, including Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Autism, ADD, ADHD, and other developmentally delayed or disabled children, will learn how to evaluate their child, how to design a balanced home program of intellectual stimulation and physical opportunity, and how to improve their child's health and well-being through better nutrition and an improved environment.
One young man, diagnosed at birth with Down syndrome, began The Institutes program as a baby. He recently received a degree in economics at the age of 22. As his parents explained, "The program helped him overall in developing his intellectual potential. As a matter of fact he is a tireless, insatiable reader and an example of what can be achieved."
For half a century, The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential (www.iahp.org) has been helping parents of Down syndrome and other special needs children to increase their physical, intellectual, and social abilities. A recent graduate of the course wrote, "I learned that there is help for my child. This course has been such a blessing because teachers, doctors, and parents of other children with Down syndrome didn't believe this to be possible."
"Each and every one of these children deserves a fighting chance to be well and enjoy a full and rich life," states The Institutes founder, Glenn Doman. Doman is also author of the groundbreaking book "What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child," now in its 30th anniversary edition. The Institutes also publishes "The Pathway to Wellness- How to Help Your Brain-Injured Child," which provides parents with 240 vital points to create an enriched environment at home. This book is available at no cost to parents (or providers) of brain-injured children.
