BoysTown Elects 113th Mayor

Boys Town youth elected Anne Polland of Valley, Neb., the 113th mayor of the Village of Boys Town. Isaac Kolb of Lincoln, Neb. was elected vice mayor.

Polland is 17-years-old and says she wants to be a positive role model for peers. "I want to encourage and demonstrate good behaviors for others."

Polland is captain of the volleyball, soccer and track team. She is also a student peer and Student Council secretary. She would like to be a volunteer in a third world country and attend college to be a graphic designer. Her Family-Teachers are Jodi and Kyle Skardtvedt.

Kolb is involved in key club, choir and tutoring. Following graduation, he would like to attend culinary school to become a chef. He says he'd like to get a job in which he can help people. His Family-Teachers are Harley and Talia Upton.

Boys Town, established in 1917, is a private, not-for-profit home that offers Intervention and Assessment Services, Treatment Family Services, Foster Family Services, In-Home Family Services and Child and Family Support Services.
