Educational consultant, Linda Shaffer, Sandpoint, Id., 208-263-8394, shafedcon@coldreams.com, attended a graduation ceremony May 14 for 7 students at Boulder Creek Academy, Bonners, Ferry, ID. Shaffer reports, "It was a beautiful ceremony with all seven students receiving both their high school and program diplomas. It was a delight to hear students speaking from the heart, expressing gratitude, some gulping a bit and blinking their eyes as they said their thank you's to their parents, the faculty and their peers accompanying them on this journey. Witnessing the solid connection between students and staff, demonstrated to me one more time just how important and primary that connection is in the growth of teens ... and that it appears definitely to be happening at Boulder Creek Academy. I was a teacher/counselor/admissions counselor in the earlier days CEDU version of the schools some years ago for 8 years. I have two students there presently. One was in the graduation class and blossomed so beautifully. The second student is moving along wonderfully as well. The students seem to be getting what they need as one can see in their attitudes and care in general."
