Director of Admissions Reid Treadaway is taking advantage of an entrepreneurial opportunity to work alongside former colleagues as part of the founding team of owners developing BlueFire Wilderness. A new wilderness therapy program, BlueFire is sure to benefit from Reid's many years of admissions experience, just as Boulder Creek Academy has benefitted from his vast knowledge and compassion for families in need. We are excited for Reid and wish him and the BlueFire Wilderness team years of success and health. It goes without saying, we will miss him at Boulder Creek Academy, but we know that we will have opportunities to support each other through our common missions in the future.

Theresa Wardle, LCSW, will assume the admissions director role at Boulder Creek Academy. Theresa comes from Northwest Academy, our sister school, where she has been a clinical supervisor for nearly three years. A tenured professional, Theresa has worked in the therapeutic adolescent industry for more than 15 years as a field instructor, clinician and for many years, she successfully operated her own home program for struggling adolescent girls.

Northwest Academy Admissions Director Brandi Elliott will be mentoring and training Theresa and is excited to work alongside her. As "sister schools", Boulder Creek Academy and Northwest Academy regularly share resources and support each other through collaborative efforts, best practices and resource management. Theresa's intimate knowledge of Northwest Academy and Boulder Creek Academy give her a spring board to successfully support families and children in this new role.

About Boulder Creek Academy
Boulder Creek Academy has spent two-decades focused on meeting the unique needs of adolescents ages 13 to 18 who are clinically complex and socially immature. Students are bright, yet are challenged with unevenly developed cognitive skills and other issues, including executive function issues, non-verbal learning disorders, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. The therapeutic boarding school features a state-approved special education program and students benefit from a curriculum that integrates academic and therapeutic learning with adventure activities, leadership, and service learning opportunities. Moreover, students receive fundamental skill building services including phonemic awareness development, passage comprehension, operational and problem solving, and more. The campus is situated on 180-acres at the base of the Cabinet Mountains in northern Idaho. Students are accepted for enrollment year-round.
