Boulder Creek Academy has earned a highly competitive accreditation as an approved Idaho Special Education Facility. The Idaho Department of Education awards such accreditation to schools who successfully integrate observable and measurable therapeutic, academic, and life skills interventions. The Idaho Department of Education has approved only eight other such facilities, acknowledging them for excellence in providing evidence-based services to students with social, emotional, and learning differences.

Boulder Creek continues to demonstrate a commitment to interdepartmental collaboration in order to serve the needs of students and families. The Idaho Department of Education recognized the school without reservation for offering comprehensive evaluations, carefully planned transitions, and "a vast variety of services to meet the individual needs of the students." This recognizes Boulder Creek as a preferred provider for the continuum of services in the state of Idaho and allows them to accept non-public school funding from states requiring special education accreditation.

Boulder Creek recently shared best practices at the international Learning Disabilities Association conference in Jacksonville, Florida. They will present "Teaching Empathy through Narrative to Adolescents on the Spectrum," at IECA Spring Conference in Philadelphia this May. This presentation will offer strategies for family, therapeutic, and academic collaboration.

Boulder Creek Academy is a coeducational therapeutic boarding school, situated on 180 acres at the base of the Cabinet Mountains in Northern Idaho. The 12 to 24 month program offers year-round admissions for young people with distinct learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges from 13 to 18 years of age, who may struggle in a traditional academic setting or face challenges from residential or acute settings.
