Blueprint Education, a nonprofit educational organization, has announced a partnership with Hawaii-based Pacific Quest that will allow students in the personal development program to receive academic credit.

Blueprint Education, headquartered in Glendale, Ariz., will provide print-based curriculum for students participating in Pacific Quest, which works with students ages 13 to 17. Participants live in a base camp setting on an eight-acre working, organic farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. The students learn basic living skills and a strong work ethic by being responsible for all farming and camp duties while receiving individual and group counseling.

“For many of our students, poor academic performance plays a large role in their negative coping skills and behaviors,” said Marney Sullivan, Admissions Director of Pacific Quest. “Instead of perpetuating the problem, Pacific Quest allows students the opportunity to complete accredited classes. With academics built in to the student’s overall program success, they begin to develop better academic skills and motivations.”

Through the partnership with Blueprint Education, Pacific Quest students can enroll in specific courses that fit their academic needs. Students will then be able to transfer their academic credits back to a traditional school, or they can choose to continue their studies through Blueprint Education to earn their high school diploma.

Blueprint Education has been helping students succeed for 39 years and serves junior high and high school students throughout Arizona, across the nation, and abroad. It originated in 1926 as a correspondence school. In 1969, it was incorporated by the state of Arizona as a private non-profit organization and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Today, Blueprint Education serves thousands of school-aged youth and adults.

Blueprint Education is accredited by the NCA Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, CITA and the NCAA. More information about Blueprint and its programs is available at www.blueprinteducation.org.
