Reid Treadaway, Co-Founder and Admissions Director of BlueFire Wilderness Therapy stopped by the Woodbury office for a visit. With the opening of BlueFire as a viable option for wilderness.

Reid has been working with at-risk youth and their families for over 12 years in a variety of settings. he started his career in a therapeutic boarding school in Idaho, but quickly found his passion was wilderness therapy. He worked as a wilderness staff and, after a few years, became interested in working more with families. Reid then became an admissions counselor and loved connecting with parents and helping to guide them to find treatment for their children. Later, he became an admissions specialist, concentrating on Internet marketing, for a group of all-female residential treatment centers across the United States and, most recently, as the admissions director for a small co-ed therapeutic boarding school in North Idaho. When BlueFire Wilderness Therapy opened, Reid found his calling to help start a new business and be part owner of this new venture.

BlueFire Wilderness Therapy, a new wilderness therapy program run by treatment veterans in Idaho, is addressing the treatment needs of teens ages 13-17 with substance use and other behavioral and emotional issues by offering more clinical attention in the form of more hours each week with a therapist than most other programs of its kind.

In addition, BlueFire offers families a multi-disciplinary treatment team including a psychologist, primary therapist, recreation therapist, academic director, family therapist, equine specialist and physician or registered nurse, to create a comprehensive treatment plan.
