Benchmark Adds Parent
Coaching To Services

Benchmark Young Adult School announces their continued partnership with Next Step For Success, by offering a five-part series of parent coaching calls to parents of newly enrolled students. The coaching calls are designed to support parents as they adjust to transitioning their young adult child into the Benchmark Young Adult School curriculum of emotional growth, education, work skills and independent living.

"Benchmark is providing this value-added service to each of our newly enrolled families at no additional cost," states Jayne Selby-Longnecker, Executive Director and CEO of Benchmark. "Each of the five parent coaching calls has a focused topic to address issues such as shifting parenting techniques to gaining confidence in their communications with their young adult in program. It is our goal to provide both the student and the family with all the tools necessary to make transitioning into adulthood a successful reality."

The Parent Coaching calls are facilitated by a Next Step For Success Parent Coach, who is sanctioned by the International Coach Federation (IFC). In addition to providing support, the coaching calls also prepare parents to attend Benchmark's Parent Seminar, a two-day parent outreach program, during which time parents learn parenting techniques specific to communicating with young adults and gain further insight into the Benchmark Young Adult School curriculum.
