Benchmark student, Morgan D., was recognized for his academic achievement this year with a Crafton Hills College Outstanding Student Award during a recent Honors Convocation ceremony. Morgan also serves as Benchmark's Student Government President, a peer leadership role in which he facilitates communications between staff and students at Benchmark.
Morgan has enhanced cultural awareness at Crafton Hills College (CHC) by reintroducing the Black Student Union (BSU) on campus. Morgan was selected as the new president of the BSU, a nationally recognized cultural and educational club, on the CHC campus. According to the CHC Teacher of the Year and psychology instructor, Diane Pfahler, "He is a serious student, highly intelligent, well-spoken and a very positive role model." As president of the BSU, Morgan will serve for a one-year term and then can be reelected.
