Beartooth Mt Ascent is a Transitional Life Skills & Sober Living Program with a Catholic focus for young adult men ages 18-25. Situated on a 40,000 acre working cattle ranch in northwest Wyoming Beartooth Mountain gives at-risk young men the opportunity to discover a healthy way of life. At Beartooth Mountain, therapy is based on living and working on a cattle ranch. The ranch life includes experiential education, spiritual life development and job skills training to increase self-esteem, self-motivation, self-discipline and proper coping mechanisms for these young men.

Founded in 2012, Beartooth Mountain is operated by Catholic families who stress the importance of practicing the Christian virtues within every facet of social life. Thomas George, MA, Co-Owner of the ranch, received his Master's in Education and is a Certified Marriage Mentor and Love and Logic Facilitator. Program Director, Susan George is a certified Christian counselor, life coach and family life and abstinence educator. Mark Schneider, Co-Owner, is Ranch Manager and Vocational Educator. Mark's experience comes both from the classroom and from the field as he was born and raised on the working cattle ranch.

Beartooth Mountain teaches the young men all aspects of what it takes to become an authentic "cowboy:" with horsemanship, commitment, courage, and faith. In this unique environment, young men learn useful job skills while also discovering inner-resources that will help repair damaged self-esteem. In addition, the program promotes the values of work-ethic, self-reliance, spirituality, and communicative skills needed to develop personal relationships and offers a substance abuse recovery program.

Individual counseling is offered at least once a week for behavioral health and drug/alcohol problems and group therapy is offered twice a week. Beartooth Moujntain has master's level licensed professional counselors that provide the counseling to the young men. The average length of stay is 6-12 months with a required minimum stay of 90 days.
