Announcing The Individualized Education Account Program

This program creates accounts (IEAs) for eligible students with disabilities to use public funds for private educational purposes. The program will enable parents/guardians to choose the education opportunities that best meet their child's own unique needs. The average amount of the IEA award is approximately $6,300 but may vary according to school districts. The application deadline is OCTOBER 14th, 2016. The first set of funds will be released on JANUARY 1st, 2017.

To be eligible a student must have an IEP and have been enrolled in a Tennessee public school for a year prior to applying if they are a resident of Tennessee or six months after moving to Tennessee.
