Auldern Names Gail Gustafson
Director Of Counseling Services

Auldern Academy is pleased to announce that Gail Gustafson has been promoted to the position of Director of Counseling Services. Gail is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both North Carolina and California. She first joined Auldern in January of 2010, accepting a position as a clinician. She has established an excellent reputation with both families and their referring Educational Consultants, thus, she was considered the natural choice to assume leadership of the department.

"It has been my goal for the past year to find someone who can be available on a daily basis guide the clinical department as we continue to improve our services. Gail has both the heart and the expertise I was looking for," states Jane Samuel, Head of School. She also says, "Vito Guarnaccia, PhD, will continue in his role as advising and clinically supervising the team to assure that we fully understand and meet the clinical needs of our students and their families. He and Gail have developed a good working relationship and look forward to continuing their work with the department."

Auldern is proud to be one of the only schools of our kind that has built its therapeutic philosophy upon a gender specific and evidenced based curriculum, Voices. Gail's expertise in working with young women to help them discover their inner strengths while they heal the hurts of the past has been a key element in the success of this programming. Ms. Samuel further states, "We believe it is vital that young women be surrounded by healthy adult women as they attempt to navigate this delicate stage of their lives. Gail and our team of qualified clinicians are excellent role models who believe in the power of trusting, honest therapeutic relationships as the medium for healing.
