Please join us in welcoming Tim Lowe, PhD, LMFT, LSAC to the Aspiro Family of Programs!
Tim brings over 25 years of therapeutic counseling experience to the special needs therapeutic outdoor community. His background in the outdoor community began with Anasazi Foundation where he worked to hone his therapeutic skills as a new clinical wilderness therapist. From Anasazi he transitioned into the therapeutic boarding school environment, worked with government sponsored youth facilities, performed in-depth work within the "sex offender" sector and additional work with state facilitated gang task forces. Eventually Tim made his way back to wilderness where, as a primary young women's clinical therapist, he worked to master the art of becoming the "girl whisperer". Tim's passion is creating a space for young women and their parents to look at themselves, to recognize how each individual co-creates some of the very problems needing to be addressed in treatment. Instead of simply trying to change behavior, Dr. Lowe works to alter motives, desire, standards, priorities, and commitments.
Tim's clinical specialties and oversight include:
- Borderline Personality Disorders
- Trauma / PTSD
- Body Image
- Family Systems
- Attachment
- Adoption
- Eating Disorders
- Anxiety
- Depression
Dr. Lowe received his Masters of Science in Family Life Education and a second Master's in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy and his Doctorate in Philosophical and Theoretic Psychology from Brigham Young University. Dr. Lowe is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Utah, as well as a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor. He has been in private practice for over 20 years, specializing in family systems work, borderline personality disorders, and adoption and attachment issues.
As the Aspiro Family of Programs continues to grow and expand our clinical adventure based models we could not be more excited to welcome Tim to our team. His clinical expertise and compassionate demeanor will undoubtedly enhance Aspiro's already profound impact on facilitating healthy and sustainable family outcomes.
