Aspiro Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. David Hillstead to its talented and growing clinical team, effective February 1, 2011. "Dr. Hillstead is a well-known and impressive figure in our industry and we are thrilled at the opportunity to have him join our Team," said Brian Church, Vice President.
Dr. Hillstead brings a wealth of experience, having worked with numerous programs over a lengthy career including, but not limited to Second Nature, Aspen Achievement Academy and Redcliff. Dr. Hillstead's research and clinical interests include understanding parent and adolescent relationship dynamics, particularly from an emotionally focused perspective. He also has interest in understanding and treating ODD in adolescent males, with a specialty in tracing/tracking unresolved emotional experiences that lead to behavioral acting out.
"Having worked in the therapeutic wilderness industry for over 12 years, I am excited to move to the Aspiro Group; their cutting edge/creative approach to treatment is both refreshing and effective," said Dr. Hillstead. Dr. Hillstead received his doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University.

The Aspiro Group of programs are made up of four powerful programs. Aspiro (traditional wilderness students ages 13-17), Vantage Point, (neurologically diverse adolescents ages 13-17), Kairos (young adults), and Momentum (Summer leadership expeditions). All Aspiro programs are based on an extremely effective Wilderness Adventure Therapy (WAT) model. Aspiro provides a more exciting, more powerful, more effective intervention for struggling teens and adults.
