Aspiro is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Carl Smoot to our clinical team! Please click on the following link to hear a message from Carl: Carl's Message.

As many are aware, Dr. Smoot possesses a unique set of expert assessment, diagnostic, research and treatment skills. He brings a remarkable set of talents and passions to the Aspiro team. His reputation for expert assessment of students with very complex psychological, learning and neurodevelopmental challenges is unparalleled.

Dr. Smoot will serve a vital role in our ongoing and growing research efforts. In addition to designing and conducting program evaluation and research he will also lead our strengths-based assessment efforts. Dr. Smoot will also be available to work cases with our very experienced and savvy team of Vantage Point clinicians, including Dr. Gordon Day (Clinical Director), Dr. Shane Whiting, Jamie Kaczmarek, LCSW, and Caitlin Galt, LPC.

Dr. Gordon Day, Aspiro Group Clinical Director said, "Carl is not only a respected psychologist, he is also a good friend and a hell of a fisherman! I am very excited about the strengths Carl will add to our Aspiro team."

Dr. Smoot received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Utah and worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient treatment settings before co-founding Psychological Solutions, Inc. (PSI). He is a licensed psychologist and has over 15 years of assessment experience. He is well-versed in academic, neuropsychological, vocational, aptitude and personality assessment, including projective assessment tools. Carl particularly enjoys the outdoors and has spent years traveling to wilderness programs providing psychological assessment, therapy, consultation and training. While Carl will continue his association with Psychological Solutions as a consultant and supervisor, Dr. Tracine Smoot will be assuming the lead role at PSI. Carl spends his spare time skiing, hiking, and camping with his family.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Carl Smoot to the Aspiro Clinical Team!

Aspiro Group family of programs are based on a Wilderness Adventure Therapy (WAT) model. The Aspiro family of programs are a hybrid between traditional wilderness therapy, and adventure programs such as Outward Bound or NOLS.
