The Aspiro Group has finalized plans for another powerful Momentum summer program, which will take place July 6-26, 2011. This year the expedition style course will take place in Southern Peru. Teaming with the Heart Walk Foundation, Momentum participants will work alongside Peruvians on community development projects. Aside from offering humanitarian service, participants will learn about Peruvian culture and heritage as they visit important archeological ruins, hike through breathtaking terrain, and share meals with Peruvian families. Following a wildly successful Peru trip last summer, Aspiro, The Heart Walk Foundation and Michael Escalante, Aspiro COO, decided to make this the location for our 2011 program.
Students will have the opportunity to build upon what they have gained from prior participation in wilderness or other emotional growth settings. Participants will strengthen desires to make positive choices in their life. With an emphasis on emotional growth, respectful relationships, and increased self-efficacy, Momentum accepts adolescents wanting to reconnect with core values and skills developed in other emotional growth settings. Momentum also works with adolescents simply desiring an intensive personal growth and leadership experience. Momentum is for adolescents who have a strong desire to attend, who are willing to write a brief essay, and have a discussion with our admissions staff. The Aspiro Group of programs are made up of four powerful programs. Aspiro (traditional wilderness students ages 13-17), Vantage Point, (neurologically diverse adolescents ages 13-17), Kairos (young adults), and Momentum (Summer leadership expeditions). All Aspiro programs are based on an extremely effective Wilderness Adventure Therapy (WAT) model.
