Momentum by Aspiro, in its third year of operation, continues to impress with its 28 day high adventure summer program for students 13-17. Bolstered by its expertise in the high adventure model, Momentum is the perfect integration of true high adventure activities, and clinically sophisticated programming. Leadership and Character Development are hallmarks of this powerful program. The program begins July 19 and concludes August 16. A two week option is also available.

Momentum by Aspiro is a multi-element course that travels from the red rock canyons of Utah to the grand peaks of the Rocky Mountains. The course may include: Mountaineering, Canyoneering, Rock Climbing, Kayaking or Rafting, Mountain Biking, and more.

A strong emphasis is placed on emotional growth, achieving a high self-efficacy, intrinsic motivators through Self Determination Theory, leadership and development in the "why's" are introduced. Although not a requirement, students who have successfully completed a wilderness program in the past are perfect candidates. Building upon prior successes, participants will gain additional skills, knowledge and self-efficacy. Through an experientially designed model, students will participate in a multiphasic approach:

  • Students explore their own thoughts and emotions through readings, stories, journal writing and ancient history that helps map out one's own character development. Students will also participate in the "Choice Seminar," which teaches personal development concepts that include: Having a heart of peace in a conflicting world, self-deception, being a moral compass for others to follow and living a solution-focused life.

  • Students work specifically to develop interpersonal relationships by enhancing and reflecting upon their own intrapersonal self image. A strong emphasis is placed on learning to understand and use external higher powers which include parents, siblings, friends versus buddies, teachers, etc.

  • Students use wilderness and high adventure activities to create "overwhelming mastery experiences" that build self efficacy, resiliency, coping skills, self esteem, conflict resolution, and an internal locus of self control.

Momentum by Aspiro provides a more exciting, more powerful, more effective summer leadership program. Space is extremely limited.
