The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International (CARF) has announced that Aspen Ranch, a licensed residential treatment center for struggling teens ages 13-18, has been accredited for a period of three years. Aspen Ranch is the first Utah program to ever receive CARF accreditation.
This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization's substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
"We are very proud to achieve CARF accreditation for the three-year term and believe this is a terrific reflection of our commitment to quality," said Phil Herschman, president of Aspen Education Group, the parent company of Aspen Ranch.
The CARF accrediting officials noted strengths in many areas of Aspen Ranch's operations, including its "dedicated and professional staff members who strive to provide the best possible services." In addition, they noted that "much of the staff is long tenured" and "the therapy staff is well qualified." "There is a strong communication with families," they wrote; Aspen Ranch "is located in a beautiful and serene location that well serves the needs of [students]" and "the equine therapy programs are valuable and greatly appreciated by the students."
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
Aspen Ranch is a co-ed, licensed residential treatment center located in Loa, Utah. The Ranch offers students the ability to live in a therapeutic environment, attend an individually paced school, participate in individual and group therapy, and take part in a life-changing equine program so that they may experience success and rediscover a sense of mastery and self-worth.
