The Aspen Institute for Behavioral Assessment has announced Sharelle Baldwin, Ph.D., as Program Director, effective Monday, September 20. Dr. Baldwin will oversee all clinical and milieu components of the comprehensive diagnostic and assessment facility.
"We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Baldwin to the Institute," said Mark Dorenfeld, Senior Vice President, Western Region, for Aspen Education Group, parent company of the Aspen Institute for Behavioral Assessment. "The combination of her clinical experience which includes extensive neuropsychology assessment and research, and vast education including a Harvard internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, will greatly benefit the staff and clients of the program. She is a great addition to an exceptional team of professionals."
Dr. Baldwin's primary concentration has been Clinical Neuropsychology, the study of brain dysfunction and its relationship to all aspects of behavior, as well as the impact of brain dysfunction and injury on individuals' abilities to function. She has served as a clinician in a hospital-correctional setting and completed a two year Post-Doctoral Residency in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in the Department of Neurology. Most recently, she provided psychological assessments to detect learning disabilities, ADHD, substance use disorders, and personality disorders in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Baldwin is a published expert in neuropsychology and has conducted neuropsychological, intelligence, personality and clinical assessments for a wide-array of memory disorders, behavioral, emotional, organic, and personality deficiencies, and drug/alcohol use. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology (Ph.D.) with dual concentrations in Neuropsychology and Forensic and Police Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. She also is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
The Aspen Institute for Behavioral Assessment was founded in March of 2007 as a resource for parents and professionals seeking comprehensive, customized assessments for clinically complex young people who were previously difficult to diagnose due to a lack of coordinated clinical data. Specifically, the Institute offers psychiatric, psychological, chemical dependency, medication and recreation evaluations, as well as psychosocial, family systems, health and physical, nutritional and self-harm assessments. The Aspen Institute for Behavioral Assessment is a program of Aspen Education Group, a member of NATSAP, and a member of CRC Health Group.
