It is with our great pleasure to introduce our new admissions team for the Aspen Institute. On February 1, 2010, Russ Pryor, LCSW, MBA, accepted the position of Admissions Director, with Randi Nelson stepping into the role of Admissions coordinator. Russ is a seasoned therapist who brings a strong clinical background to the role of Admissions Director. He has worked as a therapist since 1995 and currently has been a therapist at the Institute for the past three years. Russ will continue to take a small caseload as well as work within the admissions arena. Russ is able to address any of your clinical and admissions questions due to the breadth of his experience. Furthermore, Randi Nelson has also worked at the Institute since its inception. She has worked in admissions, operations, and human resources throughout her tenure at the Institute. We are glad to have them in their new positions and wish them the best as they move forward in their new endeavors.
The Aspen Institute is a comprehensive therapeutic assessment program. The mission of the therapeutic assessment is to fully treat, diagnosis, and develop an action plan for the short and long term treatment of the struggling adolescent. The assessment is achieved via psychotherapy, psychological testing, classroom assessments, therapeutic milieu, and psychiatric stabilization. The therapeutic assessment consists of 2 hours of individual therapy, 1 hour of family therapy and 5 hours of group therapy by fully licensed therapists. Weekly psychiatric sessions occur for medication management and full psychiatric evaluation. Furthermore, each child is seen by a licensed psychologist who will perform a variety of academic and psychological examinations to further define ways to help the adolescent to reach a full sense of well-being. Throughout the process of the therapeutic assessment the therapist will have frequent contact between the family and their professional providers. At the end of the therapeutic assessment, each family will have a "roadmap" to guide them through the next stage of treatment and life.
