Ashcreek Ranch Academy To Open

Ashcreek Ranch Academy, a premier Residential Treatment Center for adolescent boys, specializing in Substance Abuse and other Addictive Problems, is opening in March 2012. Ashcreek Ranch is located approximately 25 miles north-east of St. Gorge, Utah in the rural community of Toquerville, near Zion National Park.

Drawing on their vast experience in operating highly successful residential treatment programs in the past, Tammy Behrmann and Darren Prince have created a unique treatment environment, integrating clinical milieu, academic, horsemanship, spiritual and recreational/activity program components.

Ashcreek Ranch Academy's approach starts with the understanding that reversal of additive lifestyles is possible and with the right tools and knowledge each student can learn to make new choices for a happy, healthy and meaningful life. The family style environment with its program component provides each student with a platform to overcome the stranglehold of abusive and addictive behaviors.

At its programmatic core, Ashcreek Ranch combines an intense, specialized clinical addiction recovery model with a challenging college prep curricula, focusing on maximizing each student's potential. The daily therapeutic environment is dominated by a truly unparalleled horsemanship program. By working with horses on a daily basis, each boy is exposed to the lifestyle of the Great American Cowboy. Through caring for the horse, the breeding and birthing component, the colt training program, cattle drives, farrier skills, sorting and cutting competitions, each student will come to appreciate hard work and reap the benefit of increased self-esteem and self-improvement. Diversionary activities, sports, physical fitness and adventure programs, and community service bring balance to the treatment routine and the Spirituality building component will enhance the student's relationship with a power greater then himself.

Ashcreek Ranch Academy has brought together a group of seasoned professionals who have extensive experience in working with adolescents. This multi-disciplinary team consisting of psychiatrist, psychologist, therapists, certified teachers, addiction specialists, professional horseman, residential counselors, nurses, activity specialists and other support staff, are poised to provide individualized treatment and help, giving students the greatest chance of success.
