Ashby Named Clinical Director At Ascent

Janice Pannell, Admissions Director at Ascent in Naples, Idaho, announced that John H. Ashby has been selected the Clinical Director for the wilderness program. He replaces Nikole Brown, who has moved over to be Clinical Director at Northwest Academy.

Ashby, who has been working with youth for more than 14 years, graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University in 1997. He has worked in a variety of settings in schools and as a substance abuse counselor. He was recently employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and developed two-day treatment programs for adolescents.

"I am very eager to begin my work at Ascent and feel honored to be chosen for the Clinical Director position," said Ashby, who has been a trainer of non-violent crisis intervention through the Crisis Prevention Institute. "I understand the commitment needed for wilderness programs, especially one with such prestige in the industry, and am eager to begin."
