Acts Adventures, an International Missionary Camp for young men, ages 18 and over, has paired up with Compass International, a non profit, and non denominational ministry, to lead a group of seven young men on a month long, International Bike Mission to Israel. The group will be chaperoned by an Israeli guide the entire trip, along with support staff and production crew.
The trip dates are:
March 27, 2013 through April 24, 2013.
Deadline for sign up: March 7, 2013
Participants of this amazing journey will fly in and bike up the Mediterranean Coast to the north, over the top of Caesarea Philippi, down to Tiberius and on to Masada. From there, the young men will board a passenger van to Eilat, on to Petra then to Beer Sheba and on to Jerusalem. These young men will average 25 to 30 miles per day on their bikes, stopping along the way to eat and camp under the stars in the Holy Land.
Some of the highlights of the trip include: Jordan River baptisms, visiting the Garden of Gethsemane, experiencing Golgotha- where Jesus was crucified and the Garden Tomb, floating in the salt waters of the Dead Sea and participating in a rare archaeological dig in Jerusalem.
While on this mission, the young men will receive leadership and life skills, discover missionary team work and learn film and media production skills, which they will use as they create their own video journal of their trip.
Chaperoning this group of young men will be Luke Jiles, the co-founder of Acts Adventures and the principal owner of Sandpoint Studios; Brothers Jonathan and David Thulin, who are signed music artists and filmmakers, Donna Short, a trained escort for troubled youth, counselor and activities director and operator of a safe house for interim care. Also joining the trip is Bill Perkins, the founder of Compass International, which started in 1994 and also the year he took his first Israel trip. He is a Christian author and the founder of 'Steeling the Mind Bible Conferences' (that take place several times a year).
Requirements for the trip include:- Participants must be 18 and over
