The Academy at Sisters is pleased to welcome Lachlan Leaver as our new Academic Director. Lachlan has 25 years' experience in the field of education having worked in both the public and private sectors. With his combined extensive experience as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, public school principal, and college instructor, we know that he will have much to offer to the growth and development of our academic program.
The academic program at The Academy at Sisters encompasses a highly experiential and proficiency based approach with opportunities to build curiosity, passion and a new love for learning. Lachlan enjoys watching the process of students developing their passions, becoming invested in their learning, and taking responsibility for their academics and how it relates to their future.
For those of you who know Academic Director, Rick Buening - who has been a dedicated employee with The Academy at Sisters for 20 years and with our parent organization for 25 years - he will be semi-retiring with the organization. We are very pleased that Rick will continue working with The Academy at Sisters, helping with the transition of his position, and spearheading special projects. We are excited about Lachlan becoming a new member of our team while continuing to have the wisdom and support offered by Rick.
