We are excited to announce that Melvin Cates has joined the Success Plans division of Academic Answers.

In his role as Family Consultant, Melvin will provide direction and support to parents. His experience will be instrumental in the expansion of our full-service approach to assisting families, which includes the execution of Success Plans systems as well as the transition/aftercare planning services that we have provided since 2001.

Melvin has over ten years of experience in working with families in both outpatient clinical services and intervention programs. Prior to joining Success Plans, he was a Program Director for SUWS of the Carolinas and the Executive Director for Lone Star Expeditions in Texas. Melvin holds a Master's degree in Community Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. He is also a Licensed Child Care Administrator in the state of Texas and has served on the national board of directors of the National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camping. As a dedicated father of two boys and husband of ten years, Melvin is constantly reminded of the power of a unified family and hopes to empower as many families as possible with the tools for a better future.
