Nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider ANASAZI Foundation will celebrate 25 years of service during its Silver Anniversary weekend in November, 2013. Scheduled events include a November 15 gala hosted by 7-foot-4-inch NBA great Mark Eaton, with performances by Ryan Innes and Amy Whitcomb of NBC's The Voice, and a November 16 concert headlined by Nashville recording artists Due West.

ANASAZI's Scholarship Gala is held annually to generate scholarship funds for financially challenged families with a son or daughter struggling with depression, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, or other behavioral and emotional concerns. The event highlights the remarkable stories of ANASAZI alumni - young people who have overcome significant personal challenges to achieve their dreams. Five alumni selected as Young Leaders will receive college scholarships from NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young.

Held at the SanTan Elegante conference center in Gilbert, Arizona, the 2013 gala will also honor author Stephen M.R. Covey and Magellan Health Services CEO Barry M. Smith, who will receive the Turn for Peace award. Past recipients of the Turn for Peace - awarded annually to individuals making a profound impact in the lives of children - include former First Lady Barbara Bush, NFL Hall of Fame quarterbacks Steve Young and Bart Starr, author Stephen R. Covey, entertainers Marie Osmond and Wynonna Judd, homebuilder T.W. Lewis, and Family Circus creator Bil Keane.

The event will also celebrate the publication of ANASAZI's book, The Seven Paths: Changing One's Way of Walking in the World, which captures ANASAZI's philosophy in what publisher Berrett-Koehler calls "a lyrical and moving parable of the healing wisdom of the wilderness." Each guest attending the gala will receive a copy.

The November 16 concert at the Mesa Arts Center will feature Due West, with popular country trio Firefly and award-winning singer and actress Katherine Nelson as openers. Preceding the concert, ANASAZI alumni and staff will lead a fun and interactive primitive-skills exhibition for area youth. The exhibition is free for all wishing to attend.
