The Center for Discovery
Harris, New York
Caryn Anderson - Admissions

The Center for Discovery is both a residential and a day program for children and adults with multiple disabilities including, but not limited to, mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, seizure disorders, blindness, and behavioral concerns. The Center is a place where both children and adults who face even the most severe challenges can be reached through “innovative learning opportunities, creative programs, and ingenious technology”, all of which are used to help them learn to live more independently.

The children’s program includes a nature-based educational program, health/medical and clinical services, physical education and rehabilitation, and music and art therapy. All Programs are licensed and certified by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, the New York State Education Department, Department of Health, Department of Social Services, and the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
